The Advisory Committee of the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) will hold a meeting on May 5 to examine the situation of water availability in the country for Kharif cultures.
The meeting will also examine the status of implementing the decisions taken by the Advisory Committee at its last meeting on March 26. Reunion takes on a new importance in the wake of India’s decision on April 23 to unilaterally suspend the Industry Water Treaty (TI-T).
According to an official press release concerning the situation of water in the rivers and the country’s tanks on May 1, the influx of the Rivière Indus in Tarbela remained 63,000 Cusecases while the flow was recorded at 52,100 cuses.

At the Chashma dam, the minimum level of operation of which is 638.15 feet and the maximum conservation level is 649 feet, the current water level is 643.80 feet. Thursday usable water storage was 0.107 million acres
The document indicated that the entry and flow data for the Industry River in Tarbela and Chashma, the Kabul River in Nowshera, and the Jhelum river in Mangla is based on a 24 -hour average flow. “For all other locations, data represent water flow as recorded at 6:00 am today,” he said.
