Pakistan Railways has announced that its luxury lounge coaches, previously reserved for senior government officials, will now be available to book by the general public.
According to NewsThe decision was made on the directive of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The initiative aims to extend premium travel facilities to ordinary citizens and optimize the use of existing rail resources.
Five luxury salons, previously used by the Prime Minister, the federal ministers, the President of the Pakistani railways, the Director General and the Inspector General of the Railways, will now be accessible to any passenger wishing them.
Pakistan Railways has also decided to keep the prices for luxury salons very affordable to ensure wider public access. This decision reflects the government’s commitment to improve public transport without compromising affordability.
The luxury living room service will be available on the main interurban routes, including trains from Karachi to Lahore, Lahore to Karachi, Islamabad to Lahore and Lahore in Islamabad.
Officials claim that this decision is part of wider reforms aimed at modernizing railroad trips, improving customer satisfaction and increasing non-valiant income thanks to better use of assets.
