The coverage of the NBC Kentucky derby was missing a key figure when the main broadcaster Mike Tirico had to leave the set on Saturday.

“Mike, as you may have heard, feeling a little in time right now, so I’m going to take place, take over a little,” said Fareed.

Fareed also suggested that Tirico could return to the stand later.

“It’s not like baseball. If the closest is getting closer, the starter can come back in the game. So rest assured when Mike feels better, he will be back here in this seat,” said Fareed.

Before the release of Tiro, many fans on social networks stressed that the broadcaster sounded.

Tirico has directed the Triple Crown Cover of NBC Sports since 2017. The nine -year race has been the longest of all the main broadcasts since Bob Costas achieved a race of 18 years from 2001 to 2008.

But it is not clear if it will come back in time for this year’s race.

The 151st operation of the Kentucky Derby has a time of post scheduled for 7:02 p.m. HE.
