Indo-pak tensions on Kabul

The Center for Strategic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan examined the impact of tensions between India and Pakistan in the region, Tolo News reported.

The first political director of the ministry, during a session entitled “Evaluating the impact of tensions between India and Pakistan on the region,” said regional countries, in particular Afghanistan, were affected by tense relations between Islamabad and New Delhi.

The participants in the session stressed that Afghanistan does not support a war between India and Pakistan and warned the negative consequences of climbing tensions between the two countries for Afghanistan. Zia Ahmad Takal, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, cited the deputy of the Center for Strategic Studies saying that because of the geographic proximity of Afghanistan with Pakistan and India, the intensification of tensions could have direct negative effects on the region and Afghanistan.

He added that the first political director noted how the attack on tourists in cashmere had exacerbated longtime hostilities, with reciprocal actions from the two countries – such as the closure of the Wagah border – already having an impact on the region and in particular Afghanistan.

Ghumlam Mohammadddin Muhammadi, political analyst, said: “Afghanistan’s relations with India have been considerably proven, and we hope that these links will strengthen more to help meet other Afghan challenges. Pakistan is also our neighbor, and Afghanistan is also looking for good relations with them.”

Participants also noted that the Islamic emirate is prepared for potential developments and stressed that, by virtue of its balanced foreign policy and economics, Kabul prefers a peaceful conflict resolution.

On Sunday, the PM / FM Ishaq reaffirmed Pakistan’s vision on Sunday for a peaceful neighborhood, improved trade and connectivity, sustainable development and prosperity.

He chaired a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to follow the results of his visit to Kabul, Afghanistan on April 19, said FO spokesperson in a statement. With application entry
