- Pakistan to respond to preserve its national prestige, promises coa.
- Termers of sponsored terrorism abroad threatens the most serious for Balutchistan.
- “Designs harmful to hostile elements will not be allowed to succeed.”
The chief of staff of the army (COAS), General Asim Munir, warned that Pakistan would respond with full soldier if his sovereignty and territorial integrity were raped, said a press release from inter-service public relations (ISPR).
His remarks came while tensions in the region would simmer after the deadly attack last month against Indian tourists illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (Iiojk).
New Delhi blamed Islamabad for the attack on April 22 in Pahalgam who killed 26 people-an allegation that Islamabad has strongly denied as well, triggering a series of animated threats and Tit-For-Tat diplomatic measures.
Islamabad, however, says that he has “credible information” that India intends to launch military action, fueling war prospects between neighbors.
According to the army media wing, the COAS, during its interaction with the participants of the 15th National Balutchistan workshop in the GHQ, underlined: “Pakistan seeks peace in the region and beyond, however, if the sovereignty of Pakistan and territorial integrity are violated, Pakistan will respond with all its strength to preserve its national prestige and its well-being of its people.”.
The head of the army has also underlined the government’s persistent emphasis on improving the socioeconomic profile of Balutchistan and said that the scale and scope of current and planned initiatives should be used to dispel the blatant disinformation in this regard.
“Many development projects have already started to bear fruit, benefiting the inhabitants of Balutchistan,” he added.
Appreciating the role of members of civil society in awareness of the inhabitants of Balutchistan, in particular young people, the Coas stressed their role in the realization of progress leading to prosperity.
The army chief stressed that terrorism sponsored by foreigners remains the most serious threat to the security and development of the Baloutchan.
He warned that the harmful creations of hostile elements, which seek to encourage violence, spread fear and destabilize the province, will not be authorized to succeed.
Reaffirming the determination of Pakistan, the Coas have declared that terrorism knows no religion, sect or ethnic, and must be confronted with unshakable national unity.
“Terrorist groups that perpetuate terror in the name of Baloutche identity to advance their insidious little program are an imperfection on the honor and patriotism of Baloutch,” he added.
General Munnir also said that the armed forces and law enforcement agencies will continue to fight the threat of terrorism with the full support of the people of Pakistan.
