Explosions were reported in Muzaffarabad, Kotli and Bahawalpur early Wednesday morning, while tensions between Pakistan and India continued to intensify.
The Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), the general, Chaudhry, confirmed that Indian forces had led air strikes in three places inside Pakistan, targeting the Ahmed East region of Bahawalpur, Kotli and Muzaffarabad.
“Some time ago from now on, India cowardly enemy has launched air strikes on the Subhanullah mosque in the Ahmed East region of Bahwalpur, Kotli and Muzaffarabad in three airplaces,” said Chaudhry during an end of evening press briefing.
He added that the Pakistani Air Force had scrambled planes in response to the attack. “All of our Air Force planes are in the air. This loose and shameful attack was carried out inside India’s airspace. They have never been allowed to come and break into the space of Pakistan. ”
Presenting a severe warning, the military spokesman said: “Let me say it unequivocal: Pakistan will respond to this at a time and its own choice. This odious provocation will not remain unanswered. ”
Asked about possible losses and damage to the infrastructure, DG Chaudhry noted that the evaluation efforts were underway and promised to share more details once confirmed.
Local sources have also declared that a full power outage has occurred in Muzaffarabad after the explosions, which raises concerns about the extent of damage and the continuous security situation.
In the light of recent developments, the Minister of Defense, Khawaja Asif, had issued a striking warning, declaring that a confrontation with India is now “inevitable” and could occur “at any time”. His remarks are involved in the midst of growing fears of a direct military confrontation between the two nuclear arms neighbors.
The incident follows weeks of increased tensions after a deadly attack in Jammu and Kashmir (Iiojk), originally illegal, which New Delhi blamed in Pakistan – an Islamabad accusation firmly denies.
No official declaration has yet been published concerning victims or infrastructure damage. The authorities urged citizens to remain calm and to expect verified information.
