Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif firmly condemned what he called an “cowardly assault” by India, declaring that the enemy targeted five sites across Pakistan in an act of provocative aggression.
In a statement published on Wednesday, the Prime Minister said Pakistan’s right to respond decisively to what he described as a war imposed by India.
“India has led loose attacks against five different places in Pakistan,” said Prime Minister Shehbaz. “Pakistan has the right to fully respond to this act of war-and this answer is already underway,” he added.
He also expressed his confidence in the capacities and the resolution of the country’s armed forces, saying that the whole nation is firmly standing with its soldiers.
“The morale and the spirit of the Pakistani people remain high, and the whole nation is united behind our armed forces,” he said. “The inhabitants of Pakistan and the Pakistani army know exactly how to manage the enemy.”
The PM Shehbaz has concluded its remarks by promising that Pakistan will never allow the enemy to succeed in its malicious creations. “The enemy will never be allowed to achieve its harmful objectives,” he promised.
His statement came as Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant-General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, confirmed that Indian forces had made air strikes on five sites inside Pakistan-translating Kotli, Bahawalpur, Muzaffarabad, Bagh and Muridke.
Preliminary damage assessments indicate that air strikes only targeting civil zones, without any military installation. “Until now, all confirmed damage to civil infrastructure. The innocent and unarmed Pakistanis were the only targets,” said security sources.
In what has been described as a “suitable response”, the Pakistani armed forces would have destroyed an Indian brigade headquarters in a reprisals. Security sources have said Pakistani forces provide a strong and coordinated response in several places, effectively thwarting enemy attack.
In addition, a Pakistani missile strike destroyed an Indian post in the dudhnial sector along the control line (LOC), sources said. “Pakistan’s forces give an appropriate response to the blatant assault on India,” they added.
Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has also managed to shoot two enemy planes in response to cross -border strikes. Security sources have stressed that the Pakistan armed forces offer a robust and coordinated counter-offensive to India air strikes.
