Donna Kelce had advice for high school students who decide where to go to university.

Kelce, mother of Jason and Travis Kelce, who both went to the University of Cincinnati, said that children should go to university far from their hometown.

“I think people should go as far as possible, it’s my point of view. I think you are growing up more when you are far from people who are with you all the time,” said Donna in a recent appearance on “New Heights”.

“I think that if you are going to do the same thing and go to a college and have the same friends around you, you will never have growth. You can never be alone and try to understand things by yourself. You will always have someone apart from you to help you through all these decisions.”

“But when you go to university, you are totally, generally, totally alone. And you have no one there, you just fail and then you win, you know what I mean. Sometimes you have small setbacks, there is adversity, you have to work there.”

Kelce said those who decided not to go to university should also move far from their home.

“This is why I don’t think it’s a good idea to be at home when you go to university or be close.”

Travis Kelce said the college selection process should be selfish, not a choice you make for others.

“College is a decision you need to make for yourself. It is a selfish decision that you must take for the future of the career or the way you want to take in life,” said Travis.

“No one should go to a school to follow someone other than the way I went to Cincinnati to go because of Jason. I don’t think anyone should go to university to follow someone else. I think they should go for the values they see will be best appropriate for them.”

Jason Kelce echoes the feeling of Travis about the process of selecting colleges concerning the student, and no one else.

“You go to university to learn and get a diploma, you are not going to university so that you can be with other people. As is not the reason why you go to university. If you want to do it, do not go to university and do not live everywhere that person (living), this is not the reason why you choose to go to university.”

Jason and Travis did not follow their mother’s advice because they grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and went to university in Cincinnati. While they stayed in Ohio, Cleveland Heights and Cincinnati are at the opposite ends of the State, four hours on the other hand from each other.
