The armed forces of Pakistan intercepted and destroyed 25 HAROP drones of the Israeli origin deployed by India since last night, according to a press release from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The military said that he used both “soft killers” techniques (electronic countermeasures) and “direct power” (direct fire power) to effectively neutralize drones.
The announcement occurred a few hours after another Indian drone strike near Lahore injured four members of the Pakistani army personnel and damaged military equipment partially, according to the CEO ISPR.
The ISPR added that the last climbing of India drones reflects “a panic” after the successful reprisals of Pakistan at the air strikes on May 6, which led to the decline in five advanced fighter planes, several drones and the death of Indian soldiers.
Speaking during a press briefing, General Chaudhry said that the drone was the 13th to be launched by India in the last 48 hours and had “partially engaged a military target near Lahore”.
In a separate incident in the Sindh province’s miano region, a civilian was killed and another injured following the activity of current drones. General Chaudhry condemned what he called “persistent and reckless provocations” by India and reiterated that the armed forces of Pakistan remain on alert.
Earlier today, ISPR confirmed the drop in 12 Indian drones, most of which were identified as Heron MK 2 models of Israeli manufacturing. The drones would have violated Pakistani airspace in several places, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur and Karachi.
In addition, the flight operations in Lahore, Islamabad and Sialkot have resumed according to Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), following a temporary suspension due to increasing security problems.
In a statement on Thursday, the PAA spokesperson Saifullah Khan confirmed that airports were “now available for flight operations” and advised passengers to stay in touch with their respective airlines for updated flight schedules.
