“Authing The Horn” leaves the air later this month, which means that some of the show’s panelists make their final appearances in the coming weeks.
This includes Kate Fagan, who appeared for the last time on Thursday. Fagan, a longtime writer and journalist, has also played university basketball in Colorado.
Fagan has appeared in the show since she was hired by ESPN in 2012. She left the network in 2018 but continued to appear in the program.

Fagan was determined to be the “winner” of Thursday’s show against Jemele Hill, who made his return to the show since his departure from the network in 2018. The winner of the episode generally offers a short monologue, and Fagan said that “being on this program was a privilege and a platform”.
With Thursday marking her latest episode, she used this platform to advocate for transgender athletes.
“I know it’s my last time on it, and I mean something worthy of this platform, and they are the children deserve to play sports,” she said. “Think about what you remember doing sports. Eighty percent of Jersey’s conclusion for the first time, your favorite number, the community, joy, these high-fives.
“This is this moment when you have an excellent game with a teammate. It is the feeling of belonging. And he does not know the genre. The children trans deserve the same thing as everyone.
“Sport is joy. Sport is humanity. And the more people have that, the better.”

There is no law or order which prohibits transgender children from participating in sports. President Donald Trump signed a decree in February which prohibits biological men who identify like girls or women from competing with biological women.
ESPN announced the cancellation of the show in March, and shortly later, former Panelist Jay Mariotti, who was a regular on the show until an arrest of domestic violence in 2010, in an interview that the program was canceled because it went “awake”.
“I think what John Skipper wanted some of the shows is that he started installing people in the programs that have become anti-Trump,” Mariotti told Fronter Office Sports.
In a recent article on his own substitution, “around the Horn ended a long time ago, when I left the show,” Mariotti reiterated that some panelists went “awake” while others were “on dope”.
