Flights canceled in the middle of the drone war

Lahore:

Due to the climbing of tensions between Pakistan and India after the Pahalgam incident, dozens of national and international flights from Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi and other airports were canceled on Thursday, while certain flights were diverted to Karachi, Multan and Islamabad.

The flights arriving from Doha, Turkey, Canada and other countries have also been retained or diverted. After attacking India drones, the air traffic system in Pakistan was seriously disrupted.

Flights carrying pilgrims from Hajj de Lahore have also experienced significant delays of several hours. Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has opened intermittently and closed the Pakistani airspace throughout the day.

According to a new opinion to the airmen (NOTAM), some parts of the Lahore airspace will remain closed until 6 a.m. today (Friday), while the rest of the flight operations should continue in accordance with the routine. Karachi airport operations, however, were limited until midnight.

Allama IQBAL ALORTOR DE LAHORE international generally manages 48 to 55 incoming and outgoing flights per day, both national and international. The biggest drawback has been confronted with pilgrims in Hajj and international travelers, especially due to the closure of airspace.

Last night, the flights to Dubai, Sharjah, Doha, Medina and Riyadh were suddenly anchored.

These cancellations would have occurred after the activity of the Indian drone in the areas of Walton and Dha of Lahore. While thefts finally left after delays, the incoming flights of Doha, Madinah, Istanbul, Malaysia and Singapore were diverted to Islamabad, Karachi and Multan.

The PAA advised passengers to check with the airline survey offices before going to the airport. Some passengers, including Junaid Aslam Riaz, expressed their frustration, declaring that they had received boarding passes and were sitting on the plane when the cancellations were announced, causing distress.
