- Masimo Corporation files a new relationship with the dry confirming the attack
- He says he has undergone a cyber attack that is paralyzed with operations
- No threat actor has yet claimed responsibility
Masimo Corporation confirmed that she had suffered from a cyber attack that has paralyzed its operation and forced it to close certain parts of its infrastructure to solve the problem.
In a new 8-K form filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of the United States, Masimo said that he had spotted an unauthorized activity on his on-site network on April 27, 2025.
He replied by activating his response protocols to incidents and isolating the impacted systems, and called on third -party cybersecurity experts to analyze the attack and informed the application of the laws.
Ransomware or not?
The investigation is still underway, said Masimo, but confirmed that the attack has paralyzed its operations: “Following the incident, some of the company’s manufacturing facilities have worked at less than normal levels, and the company’s ability to deal with, fulfill and ship orders for customers has been temporarily impacted,” according to the file.
“The company has diligently worked to bring back the affected parts of its online network, restore normal commercial operations and mitigate the impact of the incident.”
Attacks that force companies to stop the parties of their computer network generally end up being ransomware.
However, as Masimo’s cloud systems do not seem to be affected by the attack, this may not be the case. The investigation is still in progress, so we will have to wait and see. In addition, no threat actor has yet claimed the responsibility of the attack.
Masimo is a medical technology company based in the United States which develops non-invasive surveillance solutions such as pulse oximetry and brain function monitoring.
Health care organizations are often the target of ransomware attacks, as they generate and hold huge amounts of very sensitive information. Medical data can be sold on the for -profit web Dark or used in targeted phishing attacks and identity theft.
