The PM prioritizes relief for the common man in the upcoming budget

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed his government on Friday to provide economic relief to the ordinary man, declaring that their well-being would be at the heart of the federal budget for 2025-2026, the Pakistan Associated Press reported.

Chairing a high -level meeting on budget preparations, the Prime Minister stressed that all the available resources would be mobilized to reduce the financial burden of lower and average income groups. “Offering relief to ordinary humans is our superior priority,” he said.

The Prime Minister has ordered that the upcoming budget is focused on sustainable growth and focused on exports and has focused on support for industry, job creation, agriculture, IT, small and medium -sized enterprises (SMEs) and the housing sector.

He stressed the importance of public-private partnerships and the vocational training of young people, declaring that the two would play an essential role in promoting inclusive national development.

Citing progress in reforms in the energy sector, Prime Minister Shehbaz said that the reduction in industrial electricity prices already gave positive results and would help stimulate domestic production.

To further rationalize governance and improve the business climate, the Prime Minister stressed the government on automation and digitization, aimed at improving transparency and softening investors’ facilitation.

He also reiterated the government’s commitment to resize the federal structure, noting that efforts to reduce the size of the federal government would continue in the next financial year.

Officials who informed the meeting said that consultations with the private sector have been underway for three months. Stakeholder engagement sessions in various sectors had also been organized to ensure an inclusive approach to budgetary creation.

Participants were informed that the five-year commercial policy framework (2025-30) and the 2.0 electronic commerce framework would soon be finalized. In addition, a rationalization plan for prices is underway to improve commercial competitiveness.

A delegation of businessmen and economic experts of presence expressed confidence in the economic orientation of the government and proposed suggestions for the budget. The PM Shehbaz welcomed the contribution and ordered that the feasible proposals be incorporated into the final budget document.
