- Linkedin wants to use AI to determine your best work results – not specific keywords
- “The basic problem of job research today is discovery,” explains Linkedin CPO
- You can also get a job match score highlighting the skills forces and gaps
LinkedIn added even more AI tools to the job search area of its platform, allowing users to access millions of lists on the site with simpler and more natural prompts.
The tool works by understanding the intention behind the search researcher’s search, according to the site, as by using AI, the research functionality reduces his dependence on the specific correspondence of keywords, improving the relevance and quality of research results without users having to manufacture and adapt their research for the machine.
Linkedin CPO Tomer Cohen explained how users can enter prompts like “I am looking for commercial development roles in the video game industry” to find similar matches.
Linkedin uses AI to improve the relevance of job search results
“The basic problem of the job search today is discovery – often requiring an understanding of the right keywords, filters and subtleties of the system itself,” said Cohen.
In addition to improving research efficiency, Linkedin also makes changes to the way it corresponds to users with work, allowing candidates to assess their adjustment before applying by showing them how much they adapt to a role, highlighting their skills forces and gaps.
Again, the platform belonging to Microsoft uses AI to reduce user dependence on specific keywords, this time including implicit skills – for example, web developers will probably know HTML even if it is not listed.
“Premium subscribers acquire even deeper information, in particular job correspondence and usable suggestions to stand out on an increasingly competitive labor market,” said Cohen.
Other updates from LinkedIn are a personalized intermediary coaching with usable comments and a career course tool to determine a personalized learning plan for workers looking for a career change – the two tools are only available for premium subscribers.
In addition to its paid services, Linkedin also renders some of its free lessons, with its 10 most popular AI training courses currently free until the end of June 2025.
