The quarter of New Orleans, Derek Carr, announced his retirement on Saturday.

“By reflecting prayer and in discussion with Heather, I decided to retire from the National Football League,” Carr said in a statement.

“For more than 11 years, we have been incredibly blessed, and we are eternally grateful and humiliated by this experience. It is difficult to find the right words to express our thanks to all the teammates, coaches, management, property, team managers and in particular fans who have made this special trip. Your unshakable support has mean the world for us.”

The saints announced that the injury that Carr had undergone in March a labral tear, and he “also had significant degenerative changes to his rotator cuff”.
