Punjab schools are reopening tomorrow while Pakistani-Indian tensions facilitate

Lahore: all educational establishments through Punjab, which have been closed due to increased tensions between Pakistan and India, will reopen tomorrow (Monday), according to an official notification issued on Sunday.

The notification said that academic activities in all schools in the province will resume according to the normal calendar.

Earlier, the Punjab government closed educational establishments for two days, Friday and Saturday, as a precaution in the light of the dominant security situation.

The latest escalation of the Pakistani-Indian Rivalry of several decades began on May 7 when at least 31 civilians, including children, were killed in an undeveloped Indian cross-border attack. In retaliation, Pakistan has shot down five IAF hunting planes, including three gusts and dozens of drones.

Subsequently, President Donald Trump said that Pakistan and India had accepted a “full and immediate ceasefire” after days of strikes and countercaches against military installations on the other.

“After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am happy to announce that India and Pakistan have accepted a complete and immediate ceasefire. Congratulations to the two countries for having used common sense and great intelligence,” Trump said in an article on Truth Social.
