Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Design and display
- Only 5.8 mm thick and 163 g
- Has a 6.7 -inch screen
- Protected with Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2
We know what the Samsung Galaxy S25 EDGE has been like for a long time, with a Samsung’s January teases from January showing a thin construction, a flat screen, a front camera at the front and a double lens camera on the back.
Now we know the rest. To start, the Samsung Galaxy S25 edge is only 5.8 mm thick and weighs 163 g. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus (which has the same size screen) has a thickness of 7.3 mm and weighs 190 g.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge also has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, and its screen is protected by Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, which is designed to be both thin and durable.
He has a titanium frame, and he came in a choice of icyblue, titanium silver and titanium nuances.
As for the screen, it is 6.7 inches, which – as indicated above – in fact the same size as the screen of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: cameras
- MADER 200 Mp Camera
- 12MP Ultra-Large
- 12MP front camera
One of the potential compromises with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is its cameras, because it has only two at the back. But their specifications are not compromised, the main sensor being 200 MP. In addition to wide angle photos, it is also capable of 2x optical quality zoom.
There is also an ultra-large 12MP front camera, a front camera and support for the recording of the video in quality up to 8k.
As with other recent models from Samsung Galaxy, you will also find all kinds of AI tools here to help you take and modify photos. These include Generative Edit, which allows you to make radical changes to the images, and an audio gum, which allows you to delete the unwanted background of videos.
The Galaxy S25 EDGE also benefits from Samsung’s provisionable engine, which can help improve image quality.
However, although there are many here, The Edge does not have a dedicated telephoto lens, which you would generally get with a phone of this price.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Performances and software
- Snapdragon 8 Elite for the Galaxy chipset
- 12 GB of RAM
- A 3,900 mAh battery with a load of 25 W
Unsurprisingly, the Samsung Galaxy S25 EDGE is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 elite for the Galaxy chipset, just like the rest of the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. It is not a bad thing, however, because it is a high -end chipset.
It is joined by 12 GB of RAM and a choice of 256 GB or 512 GB of storage.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge also has a 3,900 mAh battery, which is small enough for a phone of this size, and is probably one of the compromises made to do it so fine. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S25 has a slightly 4,000 mAh battery, but it has a much smaller screen. The Samsung Galaxy S25 more equivalent, on the other hand, has a cell of 4,900 mAh.
Despite this, Samsung says that the Galaxy S25 Edge will offer a life all day, but it will be interesting to see how well this complaint is well when we put the phone to the test for a complete exam.
Aside from the capacity, the Samsung Galaxy S25 loads load at 25 W, which corresponds to the standard Samsung Galaxy S25 but not as fast as the Samsung Galaxy S25 45W Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and S25 Plus. There is also a 15W wireless load and an inverted wireless load of 7.5 W.
On the software front, the Samsung Galaxy S25 EDGE of course works Android with Samsung’s ONE UI superposition, which includes features such as Now Brief – which provides personalized briefings throughout the day. For example, your morning briefing can include things like time and how you slept well (if you have followed your sleep).
Finally, Samsung promises that the Galaxy S25 Edge will receive seven years of security and operating system updates.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: early verdict
By only going through specifications, the Samsung Galaxy S25 EDGE certainly seems intriguing. Our main concern here is the battery life, because despite Samsung’s insurance, it is difficult to believe that it will really offer life all day with such a small capacity.
Even if this is the case, it is unlikely that it is competitive with other phones on this front. But it is not impossible that, thanks to a software magic, Samsung has delivered a really good endurance – we will know it once we have tested the phone ourselves.
Beyond that, the absence of a telephoto is a slight disappointment, but expected, and at least the main sensor of 200 MP seems promising.
Elsewhere, the Galaxy S25 Edge seems just as good as the rest of the S25 series, just much thinner. It remains to be seen if this thin will result in sales.
