The warm and dry weather is expected to continue in most regions of Pakistan in the coming days, with very hot conditions planned for the South Plains, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said on Tuesday.
According to the PMD, Continental Air currently prevails over a large part of the country, contributing to the hot and dry period in progress.
While the majority of regions will remain dry, the isolated activity of wind and thunderstorm can occur in the Gilgit-Baltistan, the Kashmir and the Khyber-Pakhtunkha Superior on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, similar weather conditions will persist, temperatures that should increase more in the southern areas such as Sindh and southern Punjab. The PMD warned that in the afternoons in these regions will probably be “very hot”, especially in the Sindh.
In the past 24 hours, hot and dry weather has been observed in most regions. However, dispersed precipitation has been recorded in some parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkh upper and Gilgit-Baltistan. Kalam received 6 mm of rain, Pattan 4 mm and the chilas 5 mm. Gupis recorded 3 mm, while Skardu, Bunji and Bagrote each saw 2 mm.
The highest temperature recorded in the country on Monday was in Dadu, where Mercury reached 47 ° C. Other high readings included 45 ° C in Khairpur, Mohenjo-Daro and Larkana.
For the future, the PMD expects the current weather model to take place until Thursday, with hot and dry conditions provided for most areas and no significant change provided in the temperature trend.
