The new Samsung Galaxy S25 EDGE combines some of the best Samsung technologies from its main flagship phones and adds new wrinkles to provide a new exciting Android smartphone which is already widely known as one of the thinnest handsets on the market.
He has no new chip, but the one he has, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 elite for Galaxy, is the best you can get for Android. He does not have a telephoto lens, but includes the equivalent of the best 200MP camera in Samsung. It is a mainly compromised smartphone that promises practically all the features you could find on the ultra galaxy S25 (Save the S Pen).
But what you pay for $ 1,099.99 / £ 1,099 / $ 1,849 to is an incredibly slender titanium frame, which seems slim and, only 163 grams, exceptionally light. Even if I know the specifications – 5.8 mm – I had trouble finding a way to put this measure in perspective.
This is why I brought a small collection of neighborhoods to my first practical experience with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. I think that a stack of neighborhoods next to the latest Galaxy phone in Samsung helps to contextualize these thickness claims.
Is it as thin as a six-quarter stack? And five years? And how does it compare to other phones, even to the classic thin combinations of a bygone era?
This is the thing about thinness. He seems to enter and get out of fashion. Sometimes we prefer Zaftig to say, the advantages of the battery it offers, and other times, we are going to wear all this additional weight and the dream of thin phones of paper.
Thin phones, however, have their risks.
The arc of time folds
When we think back to the combined slimming icon, the iPhone 6 Plus, many of us too than in a affectionate way of Bendgate. It was at this point that Apple built an iPhone 6.9 mm thick that could not resist an ass, or at least resist being in a hurry between an ass and a hard surface like a chair or a concrete rim.

The managers of the company told me that Samsung’s work on its folding line prepared it well for the construction of this thin handset. Unfolded, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is only 5.6 mm thick. Yes, even thinner than the S25 edge.
If you are wondering why the S25 edge is a thick torque thicker than the fold Z, don’t forget that Samsung can divide the 4,200 mAh battery from this device between the two halves. Samsung had to install the 3,900 mAh battery of the S25 Edge in a single 5.8 mm panel.
Could this small slice of technology paradise lead to another “bendgate”? I doubt it.
The flat titanium strip surrounding the body of the S25 Edge is much more rigid and less foldable than the fully curved aluminum body of the iPhone 6 Plus. In addition, Samsung uses the brand new Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the screen to further strengthen the phone.
It is with all this in mind that I took out my stack of neighborhoods and that I started to work to measure the real slimming according to a scale of parts.

Although this is not an exact science, the modern American district has been reliably 1.75 mm thick since at least the 1930s. However, my results have meaning when you compare the actual thickness of each phone in millimeters. The S25 Edge is the clear leader.
My little experience proves that in the most physical sense, the Samsung Galaxy S25 edge is one of the finest phones on the market. Of course, it might not seem to be a test. But, hey, what else was I going to with this pile of neighborhoods?
For the moment, I suggest that you go to a Samsung retailer to at least touch the super thin galaxy S25 Edge for yourself. The quarters are optional.
