- Dior confirmed the loss of sensitive customers data
- Passwords and payment data have not been taken
- No group still claimed responsibility
The global Dior fashion power confirmed that it has suffered from a cyber attack in which sensitive customer information has been lost. Payment data, bank account or credit card information has not been taken.
In a declaration shared with Bleeping CompomputeDior said he was currently investigating the incident and that he called on third -party cybersecurity experts to help:
“Dior’s room recently discovered that an unauthorized external part had accessed some of the data we have for our Dior fashion and accessories customers,” said the publication spokesman. “We immediately took action to contain this incident. Dior teams, supported by the main cybersecurity experts, continue to investigate and respond to the incident. ”
Names and addresses
Although Dior has confirmed that passwords and payment information were not accessible, it did not say how many people have been affected or what type of information has been taken. Bleeping Compompute claims to have found screenshots of e-mails notification of data violation sent to Chinese customers, who share a little more information.
Apparently, the attack was spotted on May 7, the disbelievers leaving with the full names of people, gender information, telephone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses and purchasing history.
This is more than enough data to create personalized and convincing phishing emails and bring Dior customers to share their passwords or make unwanted purchases.
It also seems to have been an international incident because at least Korean and Chinese customers seem to have been affected. In South Korea, Dior could be faced with a trial for not having properly notified the relevant authorities.
Currently, no threat player has claimed the responsibility of the attack, and the stolen data have not emerged on the Dark Web.
Dior is a French multinational luxury product company whose headquarters are in Paris. The company designs and sells a high -end fashion, and operates on a global scale, and has a significant presence in Europe, Asia and North America. In 2023, the company declared a turnover of $ 96.60 billion.
