Scottie Scheffler, the best classified golfer in the world, seemed to turn heads in the PGA championship on Thursday.
The normally uniform and silent golfer spoke to the decision of the PGA of America not to play the elevator, cleanliness, at the first round of the PGA championship at Sangy Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte.

On Wednesday, the organization published a statement saying that it “would play the ball, as is the case”. The announcement came after the route was sprayed with several inches of rain before the first round.
Several players were actually forced to deal with what are often called “mud balls”, which makes the trajectory of successful balls less manageable.

Scheffler struck a starting stroke in the middle of the fairway on hole n ° 16, and the shot hung on the left and went into the water for a double bogey.

“It will be the last answer I give on playing or going down,” said Scheffler. “I mean, I do not do the rules. I think that when you look at the purest golf forms, as if you are going to play golf links, there is absolutely no reason on a Links golf course, you should play the ball. No matter the amount of rain they receive. The route could be flooded underwater, and the ball will still bounce because of the way the grass is and the floor.
“In the American golf course, it is significantly different. When you have overvalued the fairways that are not wearing sand, there will be a lot of mud on the ball, and that is only a game.

Scheffler admitted that the position “a golf purist” would probably take, but the double winner of the masters suggested that the rule decision has created unforeseen conditions for competitors.
“On a golf course as good as it is this one, it is probably a situation in which it would be the least likely difference to play because most of the lies that you put here are really good.
“I understand how a golf purist would be:” Oh, play it like that. “But I do not think they understand what it is to work all your life to learn to hit a golf ball and to control it and to strike the shots and to control the distance, and suddenly, because of a rules of rules, which is completely removed by chance.
“In golf, there is enough luck through a 72 -hole tournament that I don’t think the story should be to know if the ball is played or not.
Scheffler joined the difficult break on the 16th hole and finished Thursday 2 sous. Ryan Gerard was at the top of the ranking Thursday evening. The PGA championship continues on Friday.
