Disney and Epic games have confirmed that Dark Vader’s emblematic voice will come to Fortnite, thanks to the power of AI.
Dark Vader, one of the most famous characters in Star Wars, was expressed by actor James Earl Jones, who died last year at the age of 93. Now, from today, fans of a galaxy far away, far will be able to hear his voice once again … in Fortnite.
In a blog article, Epic Games confirmed that the voice of Jones AI will appear in Fortnite and that the company is “honored to present the voice of the late Mr. Jones, and we thank its succession for the opportunity to get there for the players”.
There is also a quote from the actor’s family: “James Earl estimated that the voice of Dark Vader was inseparable from the history of Star Wars, and he always wanted fans of all ages to continue to live it. The new Dark Vader dialogue was created by the Google Flash 2.0 Flash 2.0 model, and the Audio Flash V2.5 model by Elevenlabs. Fortnite players will be able to talk to Dark Vader at stake and recruit the bad guy from Star Wars to help win a royal victory.
