Pope Leo XIV obtains recognition on the baseball field of the Chicago White Sox, Rate Field, to commemorate his frequentation of World Series 2005.
The team plans to unveil a graphic Monday that honors the pope.
Last week, the native of Chicago, Robert Prevost, revealed his White Sox The Fandom, and prevost images attended Match 1 of the 2005 World Series surfaced on social networks.

By pure chance, Prevost was shown on the MLB on Fox Broadcast for this game at US Cellular Field on October 22, 2005, and the cameras caught him at the top of the ninth round while the White Sox won a 5-3 victory against the Houston Astros.
The new graphic to Rate Field marks the location where the future Pope applauded for Chicago in this 5-3 victory, Match 1, the first of a four-game scaper for the title.
The team said that the pillar work commemorates the pope’s chicago roots “and the unifying power of baseball on the world scene”.

According to the White Sox, the Pope attended the game with the late Ed Schmit, a family friend and holder of season tickets. They knew each other thanks to their work in a Catholic high school on the south side of Chicago, and Schmit’s son, Nick, remains the account holder for the headquarters of the Pope’s World Series.
The White Sox, who have had trouble in recent years, and their fans kissed Their link with the new pope since his elected official. The team said they sent a jersey and a hat to the Vatican after the announcement.
