Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) announced the start of Direct flight operations in Lahore in Paris, from June 18.
According to the spokesperson for the PIA, the new road will offer a weekly flight from Lahore to the French capital. PIA is currently operating two weekly flights on the Islamabad-Paris road.
The addition of the flight of Lahore – Paris aims to improve the convenience of the passengers and to contribute to exchange gains, the national flag carrier said in a press release.
Earlier this year, PIA resumed its European operations after an interruption of four and a half years, the PK-749 flight which leaves from Islamabad to Paris, transporting 330 passengers and 14 crew members.
The inaugural ceremony of Islamabad International Airport was assisted by aviation Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, vice-marshal Air Hayat, PDG of PIA, and senior civil servants of the Aviation Authority and Pakistan Airport Authority.
Earlier, parliamentary secretary Zeb Jaffar said Pakistan International Airlines has been profitable since March 2024.
During the time of questions from the National Assembly, the parliamentary secretary, Zeb Jaffar, said that PIA had recovered financially and had taken over the flights to the European Union, including services in Paris.
