Anyone who watched the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021 can know Steele like Tamyra Mensah-Stock. She won the gold medal in the free 68-kilograms female competition, becoming the first African-American and black wrestling woman to win Olympic gold.
She became a viral sensation during the summer Olympic Games.
However, she told PK Press Club Digital in a recent interview that the desire to stay on the top of the mountain of struggle had started to withered and that the freestyle struggle became more and more a chore.
“I am a natural athlete. God gave me a natural capacity to simply crush people and I love to do it and I like to do it. When I won the Olympic Games, I had a lot of fun, but it was for Covid when nobody was there, and it was very, very unhappy that there was nobody in the crowd,” she said. “I fought for another two years and I did not have much love for that.
“Whenever I fought someone, it was easy abroad. And what I like is working hard and someone fought me and it’s just this fight. This is what brings me joy and pleasure – I don’t know why, I am sadistic, but as you want to call it, he is the fighter in me.”

Steele said she was “bored” with Olympic training, and when WWE hit her door, she answered. She entered WWE in 2023 in the hope of going to the main list.
“When I discovered that WWE wanted to take me, I think:” It will be a new business and it will be exciting, it will be something fresh for me “,” she said. “And I have the impression for me, it was my call from God. It was an absolute blessing with me being here. I found, I swear, joy in life again.”
Putting a cut in the cut behind her and the ability to present her personality more was something that also called Steele. She kissed the new challenge in a new sport.
“So why am I here? I’m here because I feel like I am called to be here,” she told PK Press Club Digital. “I’m here because I like the fight. I’m here because I’m starting to be a new person and putting my face and energy in new eyes. And, I can also bring my fans who are like” No, wait, do another Olympic game. “No, no.
Steele won the “WWE LFG” competition on the side of women and now has the chance to really present his skills in NXT.

She will join an exciting division which presents wrestlers who could be ready to make the jump to “Gross” or “Smackdown” at any time.
