- Google Health Connect will soon support Garmin
- Mi fitness and runna will also be supported from June
- Some other updates arrive on Google Health Connect for developers
Google I / S always starts with an opening Keynote, but the conference of developers offers ads of large software in its various discussions and events – and one of these revelations at Google I / O 2025 is that Health Connect from Google will soon be compatible with Runna, Mi Fitness and Garmin.
Google Health Connect, which was launched in 2022, is Apple Health equivalent to Android. It allows you to easily share health measures and physical conditioning data between devices and between applications, while privacy controls allow you to choose the data and are not shared.
From June, MI Fitness (the Portable Fitness application of Xiaomi), Runna (the excellent application of coach in progress that Strava recently acquired) and Garmin will be able to share data with Health Connect, as revealed on its Android scene, and identified by Android Central.
This is not the only change to come to Health Connect. As is the case with most IS / S ads, it is focused on application developers, but there are certain features that we wanted to highlight.
First of all, Health Connect will support the new APIs of medical records. Users will be able to directly enter the details in applications to highlight their allergies and vaccinations, and applications can be designed to interface with clinics and practices to use a person’s medical records as a source of information
The readings of the history should allow applications to more easily identify health trends over time, to hold better informed users.
These features will require application updates before you can be implemented, and in most cases, you will force you to grant permission to share your data, but they mark a solid upgrade of the Health Connect services from Google.
They should help us extract more utility from the best smart watches, the best intelligent rings, and perhaps soon (thanks to Android XR) the best smart glasses that many of us now wear to help us watch our health a bit.
