Professional boxer Georgia O’Connor, 25, died after a fight with cancer, said the promoter of the professional boxer, boxxer.
The promoter described the deceased young fighter as “a real warrior inside and outside the ring”.
“Georgia was loved, respected and admired by her friends here in Boxxer. Our thoughts are with his relatives in this difficult period”, a boxxer declaration obtained by The Guardian Read.

In an Instagram post in January, O’Connor revealed that she had learned her diagnosis of cancer. She said that she had suffered from debilitating pain for weeks leading to the diagnosis.

“For 17 weeks since the beginning of October, I have been constantly suffering, going back and forth between Durham and Newcastle RVI A&E, knowing that something was wrong,” said O’Connor a photo of her in a hospital bed.
“I said from the start, I felt that it was cancer. I knew the risks. I have the colitis and the PSC, two diseases that considerably increase the chances of obtaining it. I know how high my risk and they do it too.

O’Connor added that doctors refused to take his “seriously” concerns.
“But not a Doctor F — ING listened to me. No doctor took me seriously. No doctor did the scans or the blood tests that I begged by crying on the ground in Agony,” continued the Instagram post. “Instead, they dismissed me. They accumulated me, told me that it was nothing, made me feel that I was reacting excessively. They refused to scan me. They refused to investigate. They refused to listen. I was even told that it was” everything in my head “. And now?
In February, O’Connor spoke of another devastating personal circumstance.
“The last months have been roller coaster,” wrote O’Connor. “I was pregnant with a beautiful baby, I suffered a miscarriage, then I received a diagnosis of” incurable “cancer. But I still feel at the top of the world!”
More recently, O’Connor has celebrated an important step. She announced that she had “married this love of” her life on May 9.
O’Connor was able to maintain his undefeated boxing file despite his battle against ulcerative colitis and primary sclerosing cholangitis. She became a pro in 2021. She won medals at the 2017 and 2018 World Youth Championships during her amateur career.
O’Connor was born in Durham, England.
