Islamabad:

Pakistan has extended its airspace ban on Indian flights until June 24, Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) confirmed on Friday.

The ban, initially imposed on April 24, will remain in force until June 24 on June 24 and applies to all aircraft registered in India, as well as those exploited, held or rented by Indian airlines and operators, including military flights.

The press release also specified that no theft operated by Indian airlines or aviation operators will be authorized to enter or transit through the Pakistani airspace during this period.

Indian carriers have been forced to redirect international flights, resulting in longer journeys and higher operational costs. Some flights have been delayed, reprogrammed or canceled, with passengers faced with disturbances and an increase in prices.

The PAA assured that the situation is closely monitored and that the restrictions will remain in place until further notice, in the midst of increasing diplomatic and military tensions between the two countries.
