The director general of Pittsburgh Pirates, Ben Cherington, clearly said that, despite the brutal start of the team season, they will not exchange AS Paul Skenes.
Skenes, 22, has stormed MLB since its beginnings last year and is already one of the best launchers in sport. Fans and experts have theorized that the displacement of Skenes would now get a return to a profession that could propel the pirates in the running.
However, Cherington closed this notion.

“No, that is not at all part of the conversation,” said Cherington on Wednesday.
The pirates have a 17-34 file this season and last in NL Central, and no team has scored less points in baseball. They scored 151 points this season, 13 points less than the next closest team, the Chicago White Sox.
The poles average of the Pirates team is 0.219, which is the second lower in baseball. A trade of Skenes, while it remains under the control of the team during the rest of the decade, would provide pirates with a multitude of talents that could infuse their range.
Cherington knows that programming is a problem, but does not want to exchange Skenes.

“We just have to get better,” said Cherington. “Let’s play a better baseball, and it will lead to winning more games. Then let’s wake up and see where it takes when we arrive in July.”
“We want Triple-A guys hitting the door,” said Cherington. “It would be good. I always think it can happen this year. We want more over time … Everyone knows that we have to score more points. It will not happen simply by saying it and hoping. You have to do the work to do it.”
Skenes’ latest departure was against the Philadelphia Phillies last weekend, in which Skenes limited the Phillies to three strokes while launching the first full match of his career.
The pirates dismissed the director of Derek Shelton a few weeks ago, but that did not change his losing means.

The starting rotation was solid but has received little aid from the range or the enclosure of the lifts.
Skenes (2.44), Mitch Keller (3.88), Andrew Heaney (2.91) and Bailey Falter (3.50) were all great, but they also have a combined record of 11-21.
In 33 career departures, Skenes has a 14-8 file with an MPM of 2.12 and a 232 amazing stick withdrawal in 195.2 career innings.
