- Acer’s portable monitors mix portability and technology
- The vision of Acer’s vision targets comfort, but 100 Hz refresh rate services are questionable
- MacBook Pro users can find these native macos optimization monitors
The new range of Acer portable monitors has certain unexpected features, in particular in models such as PD163QT and PD243Y E.
Although portable screens are generally focused on minimalism and basic connectivity, these Full HD panels (1920×1080) go further with wide vision angles, aiming for more versatile use in multitasking.
These monitors can fold up to 315 °, a functionality designed to improve collaboration and presentations. The PD163QT also adds tactile functionality, a rare characteristic in this category.
Double device configuration with single screen monitors
Although sold as a double -screen support, each monitor contains only one display panel. The reference to “two complete HD screens” concerns the use set of PD163QT and PD243Y E, rather than a single device offering two screens.
The PD243Y E has a 100 Hz refreshment rate and a sparkle -free technology, although the practical advantages on a standard 60 Hz screen for typical desktop tasks are not clear. At best, it can slightly reduce eye deformation when prolonged.
Acer also includes its VisionCare technology for eye comfort, indicating an expectation of prolonged use.
For Apple users, none of these models seems to be optimized for macOS. Although they work as external screens for general use, they may not be the best monitors for MacBook Pro users who prioritize the reports of native appearance and precise reproduction of colors.
The PM191Q E is another portable model with an ultra-thin profile and an adjustable crutch. It supports complete HD resolution and a cooling rate up to 100 Hz.
All these monitors are portable, flexible and monitable by Vesa wall, but none exceeds the resolution of 1080p, a common limitation in this segment.
In parallel, Acer launched its Procreator series, intended for creation professionals. The series includes 4K and 6K monitors who support the precision of Delta E <1 and a wide range of colors.
These high -end models also include tactile features, shared screen tools and integrated webcams. Models like the PE320QXT and PE270XT offer specifications adapted to the Premium Business Monitor category.
The new range is at the price between $ 180 and $ 1,999, prices varying depending on the model and the region.
