After a controversial non-appeal during a play involving Caitlin Clark on Saturday, the Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White castigated the WNBA referees for their official in the fever games this season.

In a rant after the defeat of 90-88 fever against New York freedom, White called the officiating “flagrant”.

Natasha Cloud from New York contacted Clark in the final possession of the game, but the referees did not whistle.

“I thought it had been at fault.” The lack of respect at the moment for our team was quite incredible. So, it is disappointing, you know, that it does not go in both directions, or that it did not go in both directions. ”

White also admitted that the league had a system in place to make the teams communicate disagreements with the decisions of the referees, but wondered if the system worked.

“There is a system to make sure that we can send things and communicate our grievances, so to speak. I don’t know if I have the feeling that the system works,” she said.

Clark refused to give his opinion on the referee’s call on the final game.

“I don’t know. I have to go back and watch,” said Clark about the call.

During the match, Clark immediately looked at the officials for a fault and quickly started to shout when she realized that no misconduct was coming. His teammate, Sophie Cunningham, also approached the referees to protest the absence of a whistle.

A replay showed a cloud pushing his shoulder in the moment when the ball has detached. But the referees did not whistle, and the game ended there.

The fever fell to 2-2 this season and was on the wrong side of a number of controversial decisions by officials in their first four games of the season.
