Islamabad:
The Ministry of Maritime Affairs does its best to introduce a complete national policy of fishing in consultation with all stakeholders to strengthen the Pakistan fishing sector in order to strengthen its contribution to the country’s economy and stimulate the export income of seafood.
An official of the ministry said that apart from a broader national consultation process, workshops had been organized in Karachi and Lahore and a final consultation workshop is scheduled for June in Islamabad.
He said the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Policy Initiative has marked a vital stage towards building a sustainable, inclusive and economically viable fisheries sector in the country.
