Karachi:
The water supply has remained seriously affected in the different regions of the city in the last 25 days.
The water demand has increased, but the city’s water supply does not go to normal, causing difficulties to citizens, who are forced to buy expensive oil tankers.
The affected areas include Korangi, Landhi, Gulshan-E-Iqbal, Jamshed Road, Liaquatabad, Nazimabad, Dastgir, Federal B Area and Baldia Town.
In addition, there was a power failure at the Gharo pumping station, which, according to a spokesperson for the Water Corporation, took place on Saturday morning, which led to 30 million gallons of water unable to be provided to the city.
The power supply was also suspended from the NIPA pumping station for several hours, affecting the water supply to Gulshan-E-IQBAL, while the disruption of the power supply also assigned water supply to the NEK pumping station.
In response to water misfortunes, citizens protested against Sakhi Hassan branch in the central district, closing the limits.
The member’s assembly of the Sindh, Jamal Ahmed, also participated in the demonstration, during which the demonstrators blocked the two roads, complaining that the water supply had been disrupted in their region for several days.
Due to the demonstration, the water supply of Sakhi Hassan Birant also remained suspended for several hours.
