Peshawar:
President of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Major General (RETD) Hafeez-Uhman, visited Bacha Khan Markaz to repair the links with the president of the National Party of Awami (ANP), Aimal Wali Khan, following a recent dispute. The meeting ended with a positive note, the two leaders kissing and reconciling their differences.
The two had a disagreement during a session of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly. In a gesture of good will and in accordance with Pachtounes traditions, the president of the PTA arrived at Bacha Khan Markaz accompanied by a Jirga. Aimal Wali Khan warmly received the delegation and accepted their apologies.
Speaking on occasion, Rehman said that the misunderstanding that occurred was involuntary and regrettable. “I had expressed my regret at the time and returned here to clean the air. I hold senator Aimal Wali Khan and his family in the highest esteem,” he said.
