- Apple could push further into the game with a dedicated hub on the iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV 4K
- It will be a showcase for new titles available directly for platforms and via Apple Arcade.
- It is announced at WWDC 2025, just after the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2
Between Apple Arcade on the iPhone and iPad, as well as the resurgence of the game support on the Mac since the beginnings of Apple Silicon, the Cupertino -based technology giant is impatient to stimulate game growth on its different platforms. The adage you can play on the Mac extended to almost all of its other platforms apart from the Apple Watch.
Now, a new Bloomberg Mark Gurman report indicates that a dedicated application for video games will soon be announced for the iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple 4K streaming box.
The tightening report that it will arrive later in 2025 and that it will serve as a one-stop shop for games on these devices, providing easy access to the games themselves as well as “achievements in the game, classifications, communications and other activities”.
The hub will serve as a house for Apple Arcade titles, the $ 6.99 per month service of Apple offering a variety of mainly family games. These titles will reside in this new application alongside the editorial content, probably from the same team that supports the App Store, and it will replace Game Center.
The latter has been a social network feature for the game titles on the iPhone for some time, but never as an autonomous application – it will flash instead when you would open a game that supports it or be accessible when you are looking for rankings.
Since the Mac is included as a platform, and this dedicated game application is supposed to be developed for this, it aligns with the wider push of Apple so that the different Macs on the market are considered to be powerful game devices. Baldur’s Gate 3,, P Lies,, Resident Evil 4And Death of deathAmong other things, there are AAA titles that launched for Apple Silicon, and Cyberpunk 2077 will finally arrive.
Given that the report indicates that this dedicated application also fits into the Mac App Store, where many of these titles are sold, Apple could position this as an alternative to Steam, which makes games more important and accessible on MacOS.
The report also describes “a Mac version of the application that can use the games downloaded outside the App Store” – a decision that could appeal to players, developers and publishers.
It will be interesting to see if this dedicated application for these platforms arrives with a significant expansion of titles for Apple Arcade or other reinforced features for streaming services.
Perhaps it will be the first time that a title AAA will be introduced, or rather, it will be announced alongside other major titles launched on the Mac. A day and date release with other consoles has become more common, but it is clear that more work must be done so that more games are launching on the Mac and more people play.
The same could be said for the iPhone, the iPad, Apple TV 4K and even the pro vision – although this last platform, Visionos, is not mentioned in the report as obtaining this dedicated application.

Bloomberg reports that although the game application is announced at the Apple 2025 world developer conference – which should start on June 9, 2025 – it will not be shipped until September 2025, alongside the next version of iOS, iPados and MacOS. Of course, these dates slide and Apple’s plan could change, so we will have to follow the WWDC to see what is materialized.
The calendar of this report and the announcement of the rumor at WWDC 2025 places it just before and immediately after the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, which is scheduled for June 5, 2025.
It will not be the only announcement that day, however. We are already expecting iOS 19 and iPados 19 as well as the next generation of visionos, macOS and tvos. This report also promises a new battery tool powered by AI to help stretch running times, new health capacities, an application to translate redesigned and, perhaps more exciting, a live translation function for AirPods. The latter would continue the Apple’s tradition to deploy significant software updates and features for its headphones at no additional cost.
If you are eager for this dedicated game application or new platforms, the good news is that the opening cover of WWDC 2025 is only 13 days.
