Coco Gauff was slightly poorly prepared for his first round match in 2025 Open of France Tuesday, but that did not prevent the young star of American tennis from going to the next round.
Gauff, who won the We open In 2023, the Court of Philippe-Chatrier arrived at the Court Tuesday without her rackets, which she only realized after starting to search in her bags.

In disbelief, Gauff showed his empty bag to his team in the stands and seemed to joke with the opponent Olivia Gadecki about the accident.
“Honestly, as long as I’m on tour, my trainer has always put the snowshoes in the bag before the match because he is very superstitious,” said Gauff about the incident. “I blame him on my coach. It’s good.”

Despite the apparent bad communication, Gauff did not seem to miss a beat in his match. She defeated the Australian tennis Pro in right sets.
“Now that I think about it, it seems that it was the only way I was going to win the match,” joked Gadecki after his defeat 6-2, 6-2.

Gauff qualified for the second round where she will face Tereza Valentova on Thursday. The best finish of Americans at the French Open was the final in 2022.
