Peshawar:
Three people, including two women, were killed and seven others injured in the torrential rain and the wind storm through Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Tuesday.
According to the PDMA report, the deceased included a man and two women while three men because many children and a woman are among the wounded.
The PDMA had issued warnings of heavy rains, wind and hail in the higher and central districts of the province. Strong rains and hail shouted Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Abbotabad, Haripur and other higher areas of the province.
According to the PDMA report, the heavy rains and the wind storm damaged the crops of wheat, vegetables and fruit in Mardan and the adjacent areas. Calamity also struck the electricity system while 113 feeders stumbled, causing the suspension of energy in many areas for hours.
In Peshawar, the rain and the wind storm damaged the municipal infrastructure.
The solar panels installed in the Hayatabad houses were uprooted. In addition, a sign erected on the Hayatabad sports complex fell on a car parked below, damaging seriously. Strong winds deceived the electricity poles in the industrial area, while the transmission lines were also affected, causing a power suspension of hours in Hayatababad and adjacent areas.
A flood -shaped situation occurred in Ring Road while storm water drains were filled with full capacity.
Traffic was also disrupted on different city roads. In addition, many trees fell on Charsada Road, Namak Mandi and Kohat Road.
Meanwhile, the NDMA issued a warning concerning heavy to moderate persistent in the coming days, presenting an increased risk of landslides located in Gilgit-Baltistan and KP.
The risk of landslides is high in several regions, including Manshra, Kolai Palas, Upper Kohistan, Darel, Diamir, Gilgit, Nagar and Hunza.
Residents of vulnerable areas were advised to avoid unnecessary trips and remain vigilant against potential dangers, including landslides, slope failures and rock falls. (no more contribution from the application)
