- Steamos surpasses Windows 11 on the Lenovo Legion Go S in several games, according to new references
- Both models use the same equipment, the only difference being operating systems
- It is a highlight of the reason why PC players in hand envisage a visit to Steamos
Microsoft Windows 11 was undoubtedly less favorable for portable game PC users than alternatives, taking into account its non -portable user experience at all levels. While Steamos de Valve has triumphed in this department, a new comparison highlights a broader potential gap between operating systems.
According to the landmarks of Dave2D (on YouTube) Lenovo Legion Go, the Windows 11 A version of worst performance in several games, compared to the recently launched Steamos model, which has an increase in performance up to 25% (specifically in Cyberpunk 2077).
The two devices use the same equipment, with Ryzen Z2 Go of AMD (or Z1 Extreme, depending on the configuration), and the operating system being the only difference. On the photo below, The Witcher 3 Works at 76 images per second on Steamos, while it only manages 66 images per second on Windows 11 on the Legion Go S.
While Windows 11 Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Win in the comparison, it is only 1 FPS compared to the Steamos version which maintains 63 images per second. Other titles show an increase in clear and major performance using the Valve beloved operating system; It further corroborates the previous benchmarks that I made using Bazzite (essentially a steamos clone).
The advantage of using Steamos may not surprise, because Microsoft has not yet tried to improve the user experience of portable players. It is more than probably because the emphasis is on office PC (which have Bloatware and software that is not necessary for games).
However, there are also cases where the Linux -based operating system surpasses Windows 11 on office game PCs (and it is obvious via Elitebosslayer Final Fantasy 7 Benchmark on YouTube), so this also applies to all PC players on Windows 11.

Analysis: There are only a few things that keep me from Steamos on my office game PC …
I have already abandoned Windows 11 on my ally Asus Rog in favor of Bazzite, and it is a huge relief with a much better user experience. It made me consider doing the same for my office game pc, but there is a main reason why I am not yet going.
Discord is my main center for the game and the streaming game to friends, and it is not as simple as I would like. Supposedly, personalized versions like Vesktop on GitHub make streaming possible – but with frequent discord updates, this would probably require constant bypass solutions and DIY to make it work.
It should also be noted that the use of mods for games will not be as simple as with Windows 11, and some games using anti-triche software cannot work on Linux. The simplest solution is to keep the two operating systems on separate discs, but I must admit that it would be easier to focus on one.
In addition to that, there is practically no reason why I stick to Windows 11 if I mainly use my system for the game – and despite the aforementioned handicaps, I bring you closer to switching …
