Zardari is looking for the PPP revival in Punjab

President Asif Ali Zardari intensified efforts to reorganize the PPP in Punjab, publishing detailed organizational directives during a series of high -level meetings with party leaders in Lahore.

During his visit to the provincial capital on Tuesday, Zardari, who is also co -president of the PPP, asked the party officials to strengthen public awareness efforts through Punjab.

He stressed the importance of holding workers’ conventions in each district and ordered the party management to urgently complete any organizational structure pending in consultation with the Central Directorate.

The president assured the members of the party that the PPP Lahore section would be restructured and would fully make operational, including the appointment of a new president of the city.

Zardari also instructed the governor of Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan and other higher personalities to intensify door to door to promote the party manifesto and transmit the message of the Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

He underlined the need to engage young people in party structures and called for a complete performance report on the provincial party status which will be submitted within one month.

One day earlier, Zardari met a PPP delegation from the district of Attock, led by Governor Haider, at the Governor.

During the meeting, the president stressed the importance of national security, citing the longtime support of the PPP to the armed forces during periods of increased tensions with India.

He described the PPP as a party rooted in the working class, government employees and marginalized communities, and underlined its historical contributions and sacrifices for democracy and national stability.

Zardari also accepted an invitation to visit Attock, extended by the district delegation.

During a separate meeting with lawyer Aamir Hassan, a party leader and a member of the PPP central electoral cell, Zardari reiterated the party’s unshakable commitment to the sovereignty and defense of Pakistan.

He credited the former Prime Minister killed and founder of the PPP, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, to have launched the Pakistan nuclear program and his daughter, former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, to have advanced the country’s missile technology. He described these achievements as essential contributions to national security.

“The defense of Pakistan remains in strong hands,” said Zardari, adding that the vision of a unified India propagated by Hindutva ideologues would never materialize. “Pakistan is united and indivisible. All federative units are firmly aligned in the national framework.”

He also underlined the need for political stability and cooperation between the parties, noting the coordination of the PPP with the PML-N in Punjab to solve public problems.
