Defi Platform Cork Protocol suffers from $ 12 million

The decentralized financing platform (DEFI) Cork Protocol underwent an intelligent contract feat, the pirates flew for $ 12 million in wrapped stubborn (Wsteth).

Blockchain Security Monitor Cyvers noticed the feat, declaring that the malicious contract was deployed by a portfolio probably funded by a service provider.

He added that $ 12 million in Wsteth was quickly exchanged for ETH.

The Cork Protocol received investments from A16z Crypto and Orangedao in September 2024.

“There was a security incident affecting the Wsteth market: Weeth at 11:23 UTC today,” wrote Cork on X.

Cork added that he had interrupted all other markets as a precaution and that he is studying the deep cause.

The Debaub security audit company wrote that the attacker probably handled a problem with the intelligent contact exchange rate by issuing false tokens.
