Thunder has headed for the first NBA final since 2012

Oklahoma City Thunder is now four victories from their first title since released from Seattle.

The Thunder are the kings of the West Conference after having mistreated the Minnesota Timberwolves, 124-94, in match 5 of the conference final on Wednesday evening.

This is the first time that the Thunder has been in the NBA final since 2012 – that the three greats of a young Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and James Harden lost against the Superteam who was Miami Heat, led by LeBron James.

Oklahoma City will play the Indiana Pacers or New York Knicks in the final. The Indiana heads the final series of the Eastern 3-1 conference with match 5 which will be played on Thursday in New York.

Oklahoma City will have a home advantage when the final starts on June 5 due to its 68-14 record in regular season.

Julius Randle scored 24 points and Anthony Edwards added 19 for the Timberwolves, who drew just 41.2% from the land and committed 21 reversals.

Oklahoma City opened the match on a 11-3 race and extended the advantage throughout the first quarter. Cason Wallace has drained a 3-point while the first quarter expired to put the Thunder 26-9 at the end of the period.

Oklahoma City led 65-32 at halftime and 88-62 before the fourth quarter.

The Thunder moved from Seattle in the 2000s and won the 1979 NBA title.
