- Samsung has confirmed that he would ship his next foldable phones with Android 16
- This will probably do them among the first handsets to execute Android 16 out of the box
- Samsung customizations are focused on AI, security and convenience
Usually, Samsung’s new foldable phones are launching with the version of the previous year of Android because in the past, Google had launched new Android versions later in the year that Samsung phones. But it all changes this year.
We already know that Android 16 will take place soon, June having the probable look, while the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 will probably be launched in July. It therefore makes them viable for them to get started with Android 16 from the box, but until today, we were not sure that it would happen, because Samsung still needs time to make its own software changes.
However, the company has now confirmed that these phones will be shipped with Android 16, which is likely to make them among the first handsets to execute Android 16 of the box.
Faster than normal
This is slightly surprising because Samsung can often be slow to update its handsets, but the company claims that it was achieved by “open communication” and “real -time comments” with Google.
More specifically, you will get an IU 8 on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. This is the personalized socket of Samsung on Android 16, and – as you may have guessed – this puts a lot on AI.
That said, Samsung also highlights safety and “practical and intuitive tools”, as allowing you to connect to Bluetooth audio devices by scanning a QR code.
Of course, you will not have to buy one of the next foldables of Samsung to obtain Android 16 and One UI 8 – the company has already launched a beta UI 8 on the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, so that these devices will also probably have access to the final version of this software shortly after their available.
