- The Salter Vertecook is a two -level air fryer similar to the double ninja battery
- It has a slightly smaller capacity, but both have similar specifications
- Vertecook is much cheaper than double battery, costing only £ 119.99
The British company Salter (better known for its cooking ladders) has published a new two -level air fryer that considerably occupies less space on your worktop than traditional double drawing models. The Salter Vertecook 9L looks a lot like the award -winning dual stack XL ninja, but with a much more modest price.
The Ninja Double Stack XL has long occupied a place in our overview of the best fryers, and won the price of the best air fryer in the 2024 Techradar Choice Awards thanks to its smart design and its consistent results, whether you excavated a share of fries or the preparation of a complete meal.
It’s not cheap, however. In fact, with a list of £ 269.99, the double XL ninja is one of the most expensive models that we have ever tested. He dropped as low as £ 198 when Spring Deal Days from Amazon, but even it was towards the upper end of the ladder for a double drawing fryer.
This is where the new Salter Vertecook comes into play. This air fryer has a slightly smaller capacity than the double XL battery (it is a half-liter smaller inside), but its design is also extremely similar to that of Ninja, and at £ 119.99 when it is bought directly in Salter, it is less than half of the price.
See the double
As my colleagues from T3.com noted, one of the biggest differences between Salter and the fryers at two ninja levels is that the Salter model has a clear window in each drawer so that you can check the progress of your food without opening it.
However, this also means that the Salter Fryer does not seem as intelligent as the elegant ninja double pile XL – an effect amplified by the use of plastic salter rather than metal for drawer handles.
The double stack ninja has six cooking modes (aerial, frying, maximum crisp, roast, cook, dehydrate and reheat), while the Salter Vertecook has 12 presets optimized for different dishes. The two fryers allow you to synchronize the baskets so that different foods finish cooking at the same time and allow you to use racks to cook two items in each drawer simultaneously.
Of course, we will not really be able to say if the verticook can correspond to the double battery for cooking performance before having tested the two side by side. I hope to do that exactly and bring you a complete comparison very soon.
