Islamabad:
Thursday, the government insisted on Thursday that no decision had been made to postpone the federal budget for the year 2025-2026, specifying that the date announced previously on June 10 remains unchanged.
Clarification occurred in the middle of speculation concerning a possible delay due to the Eid holidays. “The federal budget will be presented on June 10,” said federal finance secretary Imdad Ullah Bosal, to the media after leaving a meeting of the committee in the National Assembly.
He said that the date of meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) could be revised, while the budget for the coming financial year is finalized in consultation with the IMF.
In addition, the adviser of the Minister of Finance, Khurram Schehzad, wrote on X that no decision was made to postpone or reprogram the budget.
“As previously indicated, the next federal budget FY26 is expected to be announced on June 10, 2025,” he wrote. “Likewise, the next economic survey of Pakistan FY25 is expected to be announced on June 9, 2025.”
