Peshawar:

The parliamentarians of the Pakistan Peoples (PPPP) party protested strongly against the decision of the chief minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to allocate a subsidy of 50 million rupees at the High Court Bar Association.

In response, the party submitted an official “attention notice” in the KP provincial assembly.

The opinion was submitted to the assembly secretariat by the PPPP parliamentary chief, Ahmad Karim Kundi. He declares that the provincial government, at its next meeting of the cabinet, has placed the subsidy proposed for Lahore High Court Association as the last point on the agenda.

The opinion raises serious concerns, questioning the government’s priorities in light of the current challenges that KP is confronted.

The province is struggling with a deterioration in public order conditions as well as worsening of the economic crisis. In such circumstances, supports the opinion, it is not justifiable for the provincial leadership to approve such an important sum of KP’s resources for an institution based in another province.

“The director general of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has no justification for allocating provincial funds to political organizations or institutions outside the province,” Kundi said.

The PPPP demanded a clear explanation from the provincial government concerning its position and the justification of this financial decision.

On the other hand, Senator Wali Khan condemned this decision, accusing the KP government of having abused taxpayers’ money by distributing it among “political friends of Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI)”.
