Fall into the entrances of Chenab while India arms the water

Islamabad:

A sharp reduction of 91,000 brackets in India water flows in the Chenab river has been observed in the past two days, the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) announced on Saturday.

According to data, the entrance to the head of the head of Marala from the Chenab river was 98,200 cuses on May 29. However, it fell radically at 44,800 Cuses a day later.

On Saturday, the influx plunged more at only 7,200 cuses, without any water discharged downstream. The low levels have marked a global reduction of 91,000 brackets in Marala Headworks in two days.

However, the division of forecasts for the floods of the Pakistan meteorological department has classified the water flow to the Marala dam as “normal”, noting a continuous decrease trend.

It is relevant to note that this is not the first disturbance this month. On May 5, just before a peak of military tensions between the two neighbors, India had practically interrupted water releases in Pakistan from the Chenab without issuing prior notice.

Earlier Friday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif published a solid statement, denouncing India’s attempts to arm the water.

He warned that Pakistan would not tolerate any violation of the Indus Water Treaty (IWT) or actions endangering millions for close political agendas.

“Pakistan would not allow Delhi to cross the red line by holding the pending iWT and endangering millions of lives for close political gains,” said the Prime Minister.
