The Punjab House department has issued a solid opinion urging citizens not to give sacrificial animal skins to prohibited organizations or their affiliates before Eidul Azha.

The ministry has published a list of more than 70 proscribed groups and stressed that helping them – financially or materially – is an offense under the 1997 law on terrorism.

“Helping the entities involved in terrorism or anti-state activities is not only a threat to national security, but can also lead to legal consequences for individuals,” said the spokesperson.

Citizens were invited to give skins only to charities registered with the Punjab charity. The verification can be carried out using QR codes found on the official certificates issued to authorized organizations.

The seminars and well-being institutions seeking to collect skins must obtain a certificate of non-objection (NOC) valid from the office of the assistant commissioner. Only groups with legitimate permits issued by the DC or the charity commission are authorized to operate.

Among The Banned Groups Named Are Lashkar-E-Jhangvi, Sipah-E-Muhammad, Jaish-E-Muhammad, Lashkar-E-Taiba, Al-Qaeda, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Jamaat-Ud-Dawa, Daesh (Isis), Hizb-Unt-Tahrir, Balochistan Liberation Army (Bla), Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM), Falah-e-Inaniat Foundation, Al-Akhtar Trust, Al-Rasheed Trust, Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) and others.
