“Women and girls are punished, no matter what they do in this misogynistic world …” wrote Navratilova on X.

She added that “feminists never asked for this. At least not the vast majority of us … never.”

Navratilova was a major voice in the effort to protect female sports. She was particularly critical of the Democrats who failed to go to the plate, with their republican colleagues, to help adopt legislation to prohibit men from participating in the sports of girls and women.

At the beginning of the year, Navratilova criticized the Democratic legislators who killed the law on the protection of women and girls in sport. The legend of tennis called on democrats to “develop a spine” in an article on social networks.

President Donald Trump signed the executive decree “No Men in Women’s Sports” in February, and Navratilova deplored that the Democrats did not do what the president did.

“I hate that Democrats have completely failed women and girls about this very clear problem of being female sporting for women only,” she wrote in an article on X.

She then asked Democrats a question when some states embarked on Trump’s decree.

“What are the Dems ready to abandon the men who identify themselves as trans?” She asked on X. “Abortion … The Constitution … the rule of law … it’s just for beginners …”
