The State Life Insurance Corporation (SLIC) has decided to introduce a life retirement product for all retired government employees. The company will also offer its insured the biggest bonus in its history this year.

In addition, Slic is collaborating with the Sindh government to improve primary health care in the province, with a working group already established for this purpose.

This was shared by the CEO of Slic Shoaib Javed Hussain during an exclusive interview with News THURSDAY. Dr. Aftab Imam, executive director of national life insurance, was also present in Reunion.

Hussain said the proposed pension plan project would be ready in a month, after which it would be sent to the federal government for approval. He also explained that the program would be accessible to people aged 70 and over, allowing retired employees to benefit from it.

In this regard, the company has also acquired the VPS license from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). The pension plan should be launched later this year.

On another front, Slic works with the Sindh government to improve primary health care in the province. A working group, led by the Sindh chief minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, was trained to supervise the implementation of health care projects in the Sindh.

Responding to a request, Hussain underlined the remarkable growth in the company’s group insurance segment, awarding its success to competitive prices and higher services. Likewise, the growth of Takaful products has been very encouraging.

Regarding the health card program introduced for media workers, Hussain revealed that Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab journalists have used health cards a lot.

However, the use of health cards in Karachi by journalists remains limited. In response, the SLIC, in collaboration with the Karachi Press Club, will launch a dedicated awareness campaign to inform journalists of the benefits of the health card program.
