- Watchos 12 will be announced on June 9
- However, it may have a new name in accordance with the reports that Apple changes the figures on its operating system versions
- Here are three features that I think we will see this year
Apple’s WWDC 2025 event arrives in a few days, and although this conference is generally focused on developers, I expect great things of iOS, macos, iPados and, yes, Watchos – the operating system used to power Apple watches.
While we will have to wait until September for the new models to add to our best Apple Watchs – Apple list almost never makes this type of equipment at WWDC – we will probably see a multitude of new software features.
Although Watchos is almost never the main objective of Apple for its developing events, it always gets time of time dedicated each year. You will find below three features that I expect to see announced for the future Apple Watch platform.
Before starting:
It should be noted that most people expect that the release of this year is called Watchos 12, there is every chance that Apple somewhat mixes things.
In recent weeks, Bloomberg has suggested that our devices will execute iOS 26, iPados 26 and so on, with future versions adhering to this new name agreement.
Will we use Watchos 26 from September, when it is released to the public? We will discover it soon.
1. Apple Intelligence on Apple Watch
The response to the great revelation of the Apple Intelligence of last year was somewhat lukewarm, and some reports painted an image of a business that has trouble taking a foothold at the AI age.
This makes June 9 which shows very important to show that Apple can work with the technology giants seriously focused on AI such as Google and Openai. Mark Gurman de Bloomberg suggested that it was possible – at least in the brand – so that Apple Intelligence arrives on Watchos in limited capacity.
The Bloomberg report linked above has suggested that Apple “marks a new set [of] Characteristics such as “supplied by Apple Intelligence” (even if the device does not actually perform the AI models directly). »»
This last point is essential because it could mean that your current Apple Watch is able to execute some of these “Apple Intelligence” features without having to make follies on a future model.
There would be a trifecta of planned features; Creation of Genmoji on the wrist of a user, notification summaries provided for widgets on your Apple Watch, while Siri could see an Apple Intelligence style updating. However, this Siri reshuffle will not be to the extent that Apple has promised for the iPhone last year.
2. A redesigned user interface inspired by the solarium
Not so long ago that Apple shook Watchos with its Watchos 10 update, offering widget batteries that recall the Garmin Watches user interface. Now, rumor wants us to get a wider visual overhaul that encompasses almost all platforms, including Watchos, iOS and even MacOS.
Several reports have suggested that Apple will use a new design language which is called internal “Solarium”, with a much more shiny design, possibly with increased transparency of the windows.
It was tilted for iOS, iPados, MacOS, Tvos and Watchos. We are curious to see how the latter works, especially since Watchos has always been put in a black backdrop. Color us intrigued.
3. A highlight of exercise
Apple likes to present an exercise in the next operating system where it can do so, freeing a bunch of new features to excite fans. We saw a big accent on the race in Watchos 9 and the bike for Watchos 10 in the past, but where could Apple go after?
We would be delighted to see a way to follow the strength training in the own Apple ecosystem: gymmtachous cry for more means to make the most of their Apple watches. However, our money is on something that takes place outside.
Rumors suggested a Apple Watch Ultra 3 This year is entering this year, we would therefore be very surprised if Apple does not push the robust sustainability, the GPS capabilities and the more durable battery of the Apple Watch Ultra series in some respects.
A marathon? A triathlon? What about rucking – the trendy exercise of walking with a weighted backpack? We will know it on June 9.
